Body Ready Birth Class (1-Day Workshop)
Body Ready Birth Class is a one‑day, in‑person workshop that helps you and your support person understand how your pelvis, baby, and contractions can work together instead of against each other. As a pelvic floor nurse practitioner who has supported many births, I designed this class to be practical, hands‑on, and free of scare tactics.
We start with simple pelvic mechanics-how your baby moves through the pelvis, and which positions naturally create more space at different stages of labor. You will practice upright, side‑lying, and supported positions that protect your pelvic floor while still encouraging progress. We talk about what your body might feel like in each phase, so you and your partner know when to use rest, when to use movement, and when to change things up.
You will learn pushing techniques that are kinder to your pelvic floor, including breathing patterns, how to work with the urge to push, and how to avoid common habits that can increase tearing or future bladder issues. We also cover ways your partner or support person can use hands, rebozo-style techniques, and simple pressure points to help you stay grounded and more comfortable.
Because we specialize in pelvic health, we weave in tips to set you up for smoother recovery-protecting your core, reducing strain on healing tissues, and lowering the chances of leaks or prolapse symptoms later. You will leave with a clear, written reference guide and the confidence to advocate for positions and movements that feel right for your body in the moment.
This class is ideal to attend in the late second or third trimester, and is welcoming for all birth plans-medicated, unmedicated, vaginal, or planned cesarean with a goal of easier recovery.
